When our clients in Biot called us, their swimming pool had been leaking for three years. The French pool company in charge of maintenance had tried — and failed — to find the source of the leak, despite charging thousands of euros. Over time, the problem worsened. Water had seeped beneath the structure, causing the main retaining wall and the pool itself to move and crack.

At that point, the owners were told their only option was to demolish the entire pool and terrace and rebuild everything — a project estimated at over 160,000 €. Instead, they called Glenn and his team at GM Renovations for a second opinion.

After bringing in a structural engineer to assess the situation, we conducted a full investigation and discovered not one, but two hidden leaks in the underground pipework. Movement in the ground had fractured the joints, allowing water to escape undetected.

We replaced the damaged pipework and stabilized the surrounding ground, completely solving the leak — without removing the pool or terrace. Once the structure was secure, we extended the terrace area around the pool and added new storage spaces beneath, turning a serious structural issue into a smart, cost-effective upgrade.

What could have been a complete rebuild became a three-month restoration, saving our clients time, stress, and an incredible 160,000 €. The result: a safe, modernized outdoor space ready to enjoy once again.
